Maddie and I went to the Christmas Market in Second Life. We walked around and exlpored the Holiday atmosphere. I was able to pet the moose and the polar bear. We also looked at the stuff people were selling. It was nice to see people in the Holiday spirit.

Role-playing is one of the most popular activities in Second Life. It is whenever you were kid and you tied a towel around your neck pretending to be a caped superhero. Role-playing is simply pretending to be someone or something to simulate an experience that you would not normally as yourself. Unlike real life which limits the extent of presentation of changes to yourself, Second Life provides an endless role for residents to experience. Role playing can give you a great understanding of being in someone else’s shoes. In Second Life you are able to use your imagination the make role-playing more realistic. Second Life is a virtual world accessible via Internet. Second Life is a great place to get on when it is a crummy day outside. Residents are able to control their avatars to explore different islands and locations. Second life provides gamers many forms of entertainment within the virtual world such as, dancing, traveling and shopping.

Sex in the Virtual World

Many people who explore the virtual world will eventually come across some form of cybersex (virtual sex). A good way to meet people with the same interests is through Second Life. Second Life is a virtual world accessible via Internet. Second Life enables its users called avatars to explore, socialize and meet other residents; gamers can write programs to give their avatars to perform actions such as dancing and swimming. Now some gamers are using these programming tools to give their avatars genital and erotic outfits and have them engage in animated sex (Biever 30). Cybersex is becoming more common in the virtual world. There are many aspects to sexuality in Second Life whether it's through appearance, exploration, or through personal experiences.
Appearance can tell you a lot about a person. Whether it is through the choice of clothing to the way a person can style his or her own hair. Second Life bases a lot of its sexuality through the appearance of an avatar. After visiting Popfuzz Fashions, an erotic clothing store in Second Life, I was able to explore the different types of erotic clothing residents in Second Life might dress their avatars in. This includes pasties, corsets, lingerie, and sexy tattoos (Plush Gaga 226, 19, 23). Tiffany Widdershins, a virtual madam, quotes “the whole thing is pretty ridiculous really. . . but it is easy to look like a porn star. Widdershins’s avatar is a shapely woman, wearing a G-string, heels, and a sheer top. Some residents choose to role-play as children. world for a long time (Wagner). Residents can change their body types to be desired more by the opposite sex.
There are many places to explore in Second Life. While Cybersex is popular in Second Life, it accounts for about three to five percent of content on the mainland (“Second Life”). Exploring through Second Life can give you a clear understanding of how cybersex works and operates. Cybersex allows people to explore their sexual fantasies, some of which are physically impossible in real life, by pretending to be the opposite sex, experimenting with homosexuality, owning a harmen of sex slaves, and more (Wagner). I was able to travel to several different islands and resorts that displayed many levels of sexuality. Some of these islands sell various items like, sex bed, realistic skins, and female genitalia (South Pacific VIII 31, 101, 24). The Cupid Lagoon resort actually displays several profile boxes of different residents in Second Life like women seeking women and women seeking men (The Cape 93, 158, 21). Residents are aloud to explore their sexuality is several ways in Second Life.
In a mini-dress, fishnet stockings, and studded knee high boots, [she] leads me [Celeste Biever] through the corridors of her Gothic castle. We stop to chat for a few minutes about the architecture of the building, before she takes me to bed, undresses me and we have sex (Biever 30). Several people in the virtual world experience cybersex first hand. Sex in Second Life starts with text chat and residents describe to one another to what they are imagining doing to each other in graphic terms. Widdershins is an owner of one of Second Life’s many bordellos (brothel, a house of prostitution). “The stuff that really seems to go is the kinky stuff” says Widdershins. “This is the place that guys and ladies do the stuff that they secretly want to try in real life, but likely never will.” Nudity and Sexual behavior is forbidden in Second Life outside of private areas and sex clubs.

Free orgy rooms are a commonplace, where users can try out sexual apparatus and pose balls (Wagner). Residents hosting adult content on their areas of Second Life are required to flag the content (“Second Life”). From my personal experience I was able to visit Resort Kaiya Islands, a tropical hangout beach. Residents are able to meet for live music, entertainment, and romance. There is no public sex but there are sexy hidden huts where individuals can meet and explore their sexual fantasies together (The Bay 32, 180, 26).
There are many aspects to sexuality in Second Life whether it's through appearance, exploration, or through personal experiences. I learned a great deal of information about cybersex and sexuality. Sex may not be the most important aspect in Second Life but it is still a way people interact and spend their days. Second Life is spreading rapidly and more and more people are wanting to experience this sex life in the virtual world.

Second Life is a virtual world accessible via internet. Each resident is able to create an avatar to represent them in the virtual world. These avatars can explore, meet other residents, socialize with other avatars, and participate in various groups and activities. I created an avatar that resembled me as much as possible.
My avatar has long blonde hair just like myself. Ever since I was born I have had platinum blonde hair. I wanted to continue this through my avatar because most people know me for having my natural blonde. I am most proud of having my natural hair color. It was difficult finding blonde hair in Second Life because before hand I had short brown hair. My avatar has a round face with big blue-green eyes. I really wanted my eyes to stand out the most. I think eyes are the most important part of a persons face. My eyes are naturally a light green color but I do wear blue contacts that add a shade of blue around the outside of my eye. I love the way it looks so I thought my avatar should have the same color of eyes,
My avatar has a very long and slender body. I have a long torso and very long legs. I wanted my avatar to have the same. I made her as tall as possible. I love my height but I do wish I was a little taller. Whenever I feel tall, I feel confident and powerful. I wanted my avatar to have extremely long thin legs like a model. I did make her have a little more of a booty than I do. I get made fun of by my friends on a daily basis because they always comment that I do not have a butt.
The last thing to do was to dress my avatar. I dressed her in a knee length black skirt and a short black top with black high heels. I wanted my avatar to be dressed in all black because it is a very classy color. Everyone looks good in black. I usually don’t dress up for class that much. I like to be comfortable if in in class. I really wanted my avatar to be dressed up because I love dressing up for parties and going out to special events. Every girl loves looking beautiful. I really enjoyed making my avatar. It was a little difficult picking and choosing from all the different choices to personalize your avatar.

Exploration Blog

Exploration

Today I visited many sites on Second Life. The first place I teleported to was the Charkryn Forest. The first thing that attracted me to that site was that it was outdoors and with nature. I am a very outdoorsy person. I love interacting with natural and seeing what the world has to offer. There are many tall trees and large boulders that led me to discover a shack. The shack looked pretty old and worn down and surprisingly after going inside there was a pot cooking on the stove and a messy bed. I think someone might be living there. I actually met a variety of people also exploring the forest as well.

The next place I explored was Apocalypse. This place is very dark and dreary. It appears to be worn and dirty because of all the graffiti sprayed on the wall and windows. This place kind of reminds me of a scary movie. I came across one building that I decided to explore. It wasn’t very interesting. I just had to walk up a lot of floors which was very tiring.

The third place I visited was the Pondex. I really enjoyed the Pondex because it was outdoor s and in the open-air. After exploring the place I came upon a hot air balloon and was able to go on a ride. I took a picture of the view from the hot air balloon. The hot air balloon actually took me to a rock in the sky which was kind of neat to see everything from so high in the sky. After exploring up there I went down and swam with a school of fish in the river.

The last place I visited was Beckenbach. It was a very wide open place. There wasn’t very much to do at this location. It was very dark and hilly. I discovered a small forest that led me to a little waterfall and river. There really wasn’t a whole lot to explore that this specific location. I couldn’t really find anything fun and interesting to do.
